Go inside and Harland will initiate dialogue. One will see a locked door with a dead nightkin outside of it. Head out of Davison's office and go to the right. The quest will update and Davison will give you a key. He will then inform the player character that there is one last room he must search, but that a particularly tough ghoul, Harland, has barricaded himself inside of it. Davison will inform the Courier that he led his nightkin to the facility to find a large shipment of Stealth Boys. Davison's office is to the left down the first corridor after entering the basement (Davison will appear as a friendly mark on the player character's compass, too). (Optional) First, go speak to Davison, without killing or being caught by nightkin.(See the talk page for more information on this topic.) Different players have reported a variety of results with regard to what causes him to go hostile. Davison may turn hostile depending on which nightkin you kill or whether or not you do so.To do this one can kill the nightkin there or perform two optional sub-quests, one for the nightkin leader Davison and one for the ghoul Harland. The Courier must now clear the basement of the nightkin.Speak with Jason Bright, the leader of the REPCONN ghouls.Head upstairs to meet with the owner of the voice from the intercom.Enter the facility and discover the source of the ghouls. If you are roleplaying as a murderous psychopath, however, this quest is fantastic. You can technically avoid any faction reputation loss by letting the NPCs kill the Legion, but this feels counterintuitive to what the situation implies. Backstabbing the Legion is a horrible idea for those characters, hence why many players never complete this quest. Most characters that kill Rose are evil, which usually aligns with Ceaser's Legion characters. In typical Fallout fashion, the deal goes south, forcing players to fight the Legion. Assuming you kill her and talk to Gloria, she will ask you to oversee a Ceaser's Legion deal. That requirement alone makes many players avoid this quest altogether, but it gets even worse. This quest will eventually force you to kill Rose of Sharon Cassidy, one of the game's main companions. What most players miss is the end of this quest. Most avid New Vegas fans know about the Van Graff quest "Birds of a Feather." This quest lets players become a Van Graff, starting as a bodyguard before assisting in more demanding operations.
